The Hallets Playground Alliance (HPA) is a park group, based in Astoria Queens, actively facilitating community engagement with public open spaces to elevate the health and wellness of every neighbor

A Motto HPA's Mission & Vision Embodies:

Mission: A consortium of world stewards collaboratively working to foster community engagement in public spaces through health and wellness initiatives.

Vision: To better utilize existing resources to build stronger communal ties through the promotion of better health, leadership, and activism.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Established in 2023 with only 6 members
Fiscal Sponsorship in 2024
expanded member volunteers to 50 by 2025
Curated over 60 free unique atmospheric events
Registered over 5,000 Community Engagement/site visits/Attendees
Collaborations with 25 Community-based organizations
100% funded through donor contributions

*Recipients of 2 grassroot reimbursement grants for NYC Parks Foundation*

Every event creates stronger cultural community ties; provides a forum for advocacy; cultivates new community leaders through volunteerism; and promotes improvements in the health and wellness of an entire community.

In 2025, HPA hosted 34 free events engaging 2,596 community members. The financial challenges of $10,000 were pressing on the checkbooks of a few. Still HPA remains committed to serving the community we love. These efforts will be much easier with smaller supports from many.

Please help us reach our goal of $10,000 by being 1 of the 100 people we need to donate at least $10 on day one of our ten day campaign to help fund our free outdoor public programs

The Hallets Playground Alliance is a FJC Fiscal Sponsorship Participant. FJC is a registered 501 (c) 3 public charity. Donors will receive a tax-substantiated letter for contributions in excess of $250 or more in the form of checks, wire transfers, and appropriate securities directly from FJC.
